Dr. Kathryn McLellan, who specializes in sports medicine, is excited to welcome new patients at the Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic. She will also care for patients at Essentia’s clinics in Superior and Virginia.
“I was drawn to Essentia by the comprehensive orthopedic care provided,” Dr. McLellan said. “The coordination between the non-surgical orthopedic physicians and the surgeons was unmatched anywhere else that I found.”
Dr. McLellan earned a medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. She completed a residency in family medicine at Central Main Family Practice in Lewiston, Maine, and a fellowship in sports medicine at Sparrow Hospital in East Lansing, Mich. Dr. McLellan is certified in family medicine and sports medicine.
“I chose primary care sports medicine/medical orthopedics because I enjoy partnering with patients to help them find ways to be active and enjoy their activities,” she said. “As a gymnast, I had many occasions to interact with sports medicine physicians, and I always thought they had the coolest job. As a doctor, I still feel that way.”
