As part of Governor Walz’ executive order on statewide masking, Crow Wing County chambers of commerce will receive 42,000 disposable masks to help businesses provide them to customers who might forget to bring one.
The state of Minnesota will ship 4 million masks to chambers throughout the state. Quantities were allocated based on the number of employees in each county. Per the state’s instructions, the one-time shipment will be available free of charge to all area businesses, but not individuals. Chambers are not able to order additional masks.
The Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce expects to receive the masks next week, and it is working with Crow Wing County and the Crosslake, Cuyuna Lakes, Nisswa and Pequot Lakes chambers to distribute them as quickly as possible.
Businesses may indicate their desired quantity of masks by completing a short survey by noon on Wednesday, July 29. The survey is available online at www.tinyurl.com/bizmasks. Requested quantities may be reduced based on demand.
