Construction of a box culvert on Minnesota Highway 210 near McGregor will begin Monday, rerouting traffic for two weeks.
The $500,000 project requires a complete closure of Highway 210 in the vicinity of work, and a 23-mile detour, a Minnesota Department of Transportation news release said this week.

The eastbound detour will place traffic onto Aitkin County Road 5 to County Road 3 to Minnesota Highway 65 back to Highway 210, and it’s the opposite for westbound traffic.
The closure will last for 14 days, ending on July 28. Turner Lake Public Access will remain open during construction, but with access from the west only.
The project site over an unnamed stream is 4.4 miles west of McGregor, and south of Turner Lake. It replaces a 90-year-old deteriorating box culvert “to provide safe passage and service of the highway,” MnDOT said.
