Welcome back to an all-new version the Eater Twin Cities Heatmap, a collection of exciting new restaurants to have opened despite a pandemic raging on.
Much like everything, the Heatmap is retuning in a different way. Instead of ranking new restaurants, the map is arranged geographically by the restaurant’s location. These are the new places getting all kinds of buzz with take away and to-go ordering available.
Even as the Heatmap returns, the Eater 38 will continue to remain on hiatus. Right now, when restaurants are struggling, and there’s no stimulus relief in sight, it seems wrong to deem any restaurants more essential than the next.
A number of Twin Cities restaurants have resumed dine-in service. However, this should not be taken as endorsement for dining in, as there are still safety concerns: for updated information on coronavirus cases in your area, please visit the Minnesota Department of Health. Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines
