Dr. Christine Wasser-man, who specializes in pulmonology and critical care, has joined the Essentia Health team at St. Mary’s Medical Center and is now seeing patients.
“I chose pulmonary and critical care medicine because of the interaction I get to have with patients and their families,” explains Dr. Wasserman. “In critical care we take care of some of the sickest patients, and guiding patients and families through some of the most difficult health care decisions they may ever have to make is very rewarding for me. Then I get to go to the clinic where I have a more longitudinal relationship with a patient where, together, we can navigate the challenges that their lung disease brings.”
Dr. Wasserman earned her medical degree at the University of Colorado – Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo. Her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in pulmonary medicine and critical care both were completed at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. Dr. Wasserman is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
