Dr. Faraz Kazmi, an interventional cardiologist, is welcoming new patients at the Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center Heart and Vascular Center in Duluth.
“I was very impressed by the culture of safety and quality at Essentia Health,” Dr. Kazmi said. “I wanted to join a busy practice for my professional development where safety and quality were foremost, and Essentia Health fit the bill.”
Dr. Kazmi earned a medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi City, Pakistan. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, as well as fellowships in cardiovascular disease at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill., and interventional cardiology at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, Conn. He is certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
“I chose cardiology because it is one of the most evidence-based fields in medicine,” said Dr. Kazmi. “The field is rapidly evolving with new strategies and techniques coming to the forefront after large and varied randomized trials. I subspecialized in interventional cardiology because I find helping patients who are having heart attacks very rewarding and fulfilling.
“I will treat you like I would my own family members and I will be a strong advocate for what is in your best interest.”
