Lunds & Byerlys will close Kitchen, its restaurant with a convenience store in Wayzata, Minn. The 17,000-square-foot store featured a wine and beer bar and had a focus on prepared foods. The original plan was to open more of the prototype elsewhere.
While Kitchen received positive feedback from customers, the concept didn’t attract enough traffic to make it sustainable. Spokesman Aaron Sorenson noted there are a lot of other dining options in the area, and the chain also has a full-service location only a half a mile away, reports Minneapolis Star Tribune.
