Elotes Woodfire Cantina, the newest good time eatery from Brian and Sarah Ingram opens for lunch and dinner today inside Keg and Case on West 7th. The restaurant takes the place of In Bloom and trades the fine dining vibes for a more casual mood, while still preparing all of the food over the massive, room-dominating hearth. The menu was constructed with Justin Sutherland as Elotes culinary director.
Outside the restaurant is a new patio overlooking West 7th Street and the surrounding buildings from the historic Schmidt Brewery. Inside the restaurant has added a street side entrance in addition to the one inside the food hall. The hearth is now crowed with a rough hewn wood mantle and three new murals have been added by local artist Annika Leiknes.

Upstairs, what used to be an event space is now additional, spaced out seating and a private tequila tasting room. The glass case now contains all kinds of rare and expensive bottles of agave spirits that will be available for purchase by the ounce, making these exclusive bottles more accessible.

On the menu are several tacos, all wrapped in flour tortillas. Some, including some served wet, like the beef, soaked in a beef consommé broth. There is also a selection of elotes dishes, including corn and beets served as a salad inside a cucumber boat, and a traditional grilled corn cob, coated in mayonnaise, crumbled cheese, and lime wedges on the side.

Drinks are a selection of fruity concoctions including a spicy piña colada, and margarita topped with cotton candy.

Elotes Woodfire Cantina is the third restaurant from the Ingrams. The duo first opened Hope Breakfast Bar at the end of 2019, serving breakfast all day. During the early days of the pandemic, the restaurant began offering free meals to anyone in need. This summer, they opened The Gnome on Selby Avenue in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood. That was their first collaboration with Sutherland as culinary director, who rose to fame on Bravo’s Top Chef season 16. All of the Ingram’s restaurants give 3% of all profits to their Give Hope charity.
