Fiesta Mart has debuted five remodeled stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth market this month, including the rebannering of three previously acquired Minyard locations. The grand reopenings are part of a campaign begun two years ago to improve standards and improve Fiesta Mart stores after speaking with customers and hearing their feedback. Whole Foods has opened its latest Chicago location in the South Side neighborhood of Englewood, one of the most economically depressed areas of the city. The 18,000-square-foot store offers a wide variety of organic produce, pantry staples, locally made products and ready-to-eat options. It also employs more than 100 team members, more than 85 of whom are from the neighborhood. The Whole Foods is part of a $20 million complex called “Englewood Square,” which will include other businesses including Starbucks, reports Chicagoist. Full Story
Coborn’s Marketplace has completed a major remodel of its superstore in Sartell, Minnesota. The store has remained open over the last several months as it underwent renovations to introduce the company’s “next-generation” store format. The remodeled store places a focus on fresh selections in a modern design, and will continue to operate 24 hours daily. As part of the project, a new Coborn’s liquor store was built on an adjacent corner of the property.
